I am about to start carrying a line of contact spheres on my site www.thespinsterz.com/ and I was wondering what you are buying and what is not yet available that you would want to see?
4" LED glow spheres?
4" black spheres?
Just looking for a little advise as to what are the most common balls people are buying.
thanks,
Brandon

Re: what do you want?
Tue, March 25, 2008 - 1:32 PMThere's been a repeated search for larger LED glow spheres, so I'd definitely include them.
I'd also consider metal spheres in various sizes (good cheap gazing globes?), Mister Babache stage balls (great for beginners!) and perhaps an assortment of "odd balls"...some of my favorite spheres are just cool balls that were never specifically intended for juggling/cj/manipulation.
Oh and if you do get those four inch glow spheres, message me!

Re: what do you want?
Tue, March 25, 2008 - 2:08 PMDitto on the big metal spheres . . . would love to have a couple for big body rolls.
The Led spheres would be great for night performance. The black ones . . . well, could be useful in the daytime, but as long as you keep the ball rolling, no need to fear the sunlight :)
except, of course, if you stay in one place too long. I've had a line burned in my skin from rolling slowly. . .
mmm. . . that's my 2 cents

Ow!
I'm in Texas, down here you'd lose a limb trying that in the summer. :-) -

Re: what do you want?
Tue, March 25, 2008 - 5:57 PMAffordable 3" or 3.5" hollow metal balls that don't weight more than 8 onces. :) I would love you for that. -

Re: what do you want?
Wed, March 26, 2008 - 2:43 PMalright, looks like I got some researching to do. Thank you all for the info, I will do my best to get you the specialty items you all desire!

Re: what do you want?
Wed, March 26, 2008 - 2:54 PMWhat do you consider affordable? give me a figure that you would not pay more than. -
-
Re: what do you want?
Wed, March 26, 2008 - 3:43 PMHard to pay more than $50. If it's a nice performance ball that won't ding easy (durable) and fills the gap I currently need filled, plus has some extra something, $50 is worth it. . .
For something I use less regularly, $25 feels more like a maximum -

Re: what do you want?
Wed, March 26, 2008 - 6:00 PMI would be using the metals for multiball so I wouldn't like to pay more than 20 bucks a ball. at that price a set is $180. not really chump change. -

Re: what do you want?
Thu, March 27, 2008 - 5:40 AMThe 4 in metal sphere i have been using are 20 buks, they can ding when dropped on hard ground but i like the weight and price. if the other ball is slightly heaver and more durable i might be inclined to spend more but for the most part im poor a lot and the more i can get for less is most likly were ill shop unless i need it for a performance. -
-
Re: what do you want?
Thu, March 27, 2008 - 10:49 PMMy four inch metal spheres cost me $8 each and ding when dropped on a hard surface. They weight the same as a stage ball. -
-
Re: what do you want?
Thu, March 27, 2008 - 11:52 PMWhat was your source for the 4" metal balls at $8?
that seems like a great price, but not if they are easily being damaged. -

Re: what do you want?
Thu, March 27, 2008 - 10:29 AMI've been wanting a black stage ball for a while, and otherwise darker/earthier colored stage balls. I like colors, just not really bright ones.
But mine is probably a minority request. -

Re: what do you want?
Thu, March 27, 2008 - 8:13 PMActually i really like the idea of earth-toned stage balls. Muddy browns, mossy greens, fall-leaf oranges and reds maybe. could be super cool, for a fantasy/medievil character for fairs. or whatever.
-
Re: what do you want?
Thu, March 27, 2008 - 8:22 PMI second a vote for more muted jewel-tones as well. -
-
Re: what do you want?
Thu, March 27, 2008 - 11:54 PMearthy tones. got it.
I have been thinking of having spheres made with quartz pieces and other precious gem stones laid in them.
earthy huh? maybe pour acrylic over a pine cone.

Re: what do you want?
Fri, March 28, 2008 - 3:05 PMOh please, oh please, a 3.5 inch LED acryllic! I know it can be done! Someone needs to invent one quick!
Or a 3.5 inch sparkley UV glow acryllic.
4 inch just a little too big for me paws. -

Re: what do you want?
Fri, March 28, 2008 - 8:01 PMglowing acrylic! thats a concept.
hmmm.....my gnomes and elves will go to work on it ASAP....right after I get done building this damn 3 section collapsible, rechargeable LED hoop......solder solder solder...ahhhh!
yeah, i like hoops. -

Re: what do you want?
Sat, March 29, 2008 - 11:42 AM3.5 inch is the perfect 1-ball acrylic size. PERFECT. offer more options in that size, then be rewarded when it catches on.
I've seen some stuff with LEDs embedded in acrylic...don't know how though. -
-
Re: what do you want?
Sat, March 29, 2008 - 3:21 PMmost of what i have seen are acrylics with holes drilled through, buffed out, and then fitted with glow sticks that mach the hole, thus still being one basic peice. Still can look very nice. :)
