Acryllic and fire video

topic posted Sun, April 13, 2008 - 9:07 PM by  Sentientdream
This is my first project (video production class) editing with Final Cut Pro, a short "teaser" of sorts. Acryllic balls, fire, and effects are really fun to edit!
Toward the end of the quarter I expect to make a more technical cjing piece which involves a green screen, blacklight, UV bubbles, fog machine, laser lights etc. Enjoy!

I usually cringe at video editing special effects, but I think you pulled them off nicely.

Okay, now that you've played with the toys I'm pretty sure you've got some further goals in mind. This is just your first venture in videofootling, right? Nice first. You've got good tools-- technical, artistic, and physical --and it /is/ fun to see them all pimp each other, but there's gotta be more than that. (Or maybe less than that.)

Take your time. Develop and explore.
Figure out what you really want to do with all those goodies.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing where this leads.

Putting videos on You Tube is not a good idea if you are at all vulnerable to nasty and vicious comments. Ive had a few cruel ones on past videos, but damn! People are getting worse it seems.

Or maybe I havent learned the lessons yet...

Grow up! Shut yourself down! Dont take risks with your creative expression! Fear the world and put up barriers so you will never be attacked!
****Eeeiiiii**** Hear that? A little piece of my soul just died.

Isnt it hard not to let the power of simple words get to you when you leave yourself out there for the world to see, wide open?

Im glad yall have the politeness to keep your comments constructive here on this site. Perhaps your really holding back telling me I completely suck. I have no idea anymore.
Im wondering tho why everything has to always be a critique.

I appreciate the 'advise' Eric but I really didnt post the thing so you could tell me it has too much or too little, or whatever your comment meant. What if these "further goals" are to show exactly what was in that video? Im sorry that I have interpreted your comment in this way, but now, you see, I am poisened by the evils of You Tube.

Posting it here, I merely thought contact jugglers could enjoy watchign the video. Keeping it on You Tube, might prove to be a bad idea, and I think I might remove my videos from that site.

So....Warning, Warning to all potential You Tube video postees....censor your self expression, because people do not censor their comments. They hold nothing back. The dark depths of human nature is revealed. And its painful.

By the way, my rant was not sparked by anyone on this thread it was a particularly cruel comment which was left on the You Tube page, which I have "censored" and removed.

Welcome to the internet, enjoy your stay, and be advised that you ought not venture too far without putting in your ear plugs with patented Troll Filter technology (tm).

Seriously, just ignore the assholes and leave the video up for the rest of us to enjoy.

Your video was really cool, thanks for sharing. As far as critics go, some people can only feel good about themselves by putting others down. There is much truth to the saying it's much easier to destroy than to create, my suggestion is to take a look at who is saying what. My guess is that the people who were dis-ing you (yes I am a child of the 80's) probably have very little which they have created.

Keep up the good play & Be Great!

not sure what they said... but critiques are supposed to be constructive. Sounds like they were just being plain ole insulting. Sorry. If it's any reconciliation I enjoyed watching it, and would enjoy seeing more... People on youtube can be dicks, but are a couple people really worth not showing your art for those who do enjoy it? There will always be some people who are just asses... :/
